THE Best Beaches in Rhodes Greece ⭐️

Don’t sleep on the beaches in Rhodes. As you can see from the map below, most of them are concentrated on the East from Old Town Rhodes to Lindos, however, you don’t want to miss Fourni Beach near Monolithos on the West side of Rhodes. This is our personal favorite beach on the island, and the hike around Monolithos Castle paired with Fourni Beach at the end was my favorite thing that we did during our week in Rhodes.

👉 Check out our top things to do in Rhodes here.

1 – St. Paul’s Bay

This bay is SWEET. People say Saint Paul landed here in 51 AD to preach Christianity to the people of Lindos. Regardless, you get a view of the Acropolis atop the hill, and a beautiful spot to swim. You can even swim out to the point where the bay meets the sea. Snorkeling is a must at St. Paul’s so you make sure you come with some goggles!

This Bay has limited spots to sit/lay down, so if you are coming here in high-season it may be best to visit early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

2 – Lindos Beach

Just a few minutes walk from Lindos town, Lindos beach is a beautiful, spacious, sandy beach. You don’t have to worry about rocks here. This is where you come to relax after exploring Lindos town and the Acropolis. St Paul’s is where you go to explore and swim, Lindos Beach is more for relaxing.

3 – Anthony Quinn Bay

Anthony Quinn Bay is about 10 minutes South of Faliraki by car. This is a beautiful, circular, rocky bay with clear water. Perfect for snorkeling. There is a bit of sand to lay on, but no much, so be prepared to sit or lay on the big rocks near the Bay.

We recommend this 4.1 mile hike from Faliraki to Anthony Quinn Bay. It’s a moderate trail and only took us about 1.5 hours. You walk from Faliraki to Anthony Quinn and back, with a chance to cool off in the refreshing Bay.

Tip ✨ : If you’re looking for a place to lay out and relax, this probably isn’t your spot. There is very limited space to lay down, and most of the beach space is taken up by huge rocks.

4 – Fourni Beach

This is my second favorite beach on Rhodes island after St Paul’s Bay, but since it’s so far away from where most tourists stay, I put it at number 4 best beach on Rhodes. However, this is a must-visit when you come to Rhodes in my opinion. The drive down from Monolithos Castle to Fourni Beach is one of the most beautiful drives we have ever been on. It takes you down windy and stunning cliffs until you eventually get to the very secluded Fourni Beach.

Fourni Beach is very rocky so make sure you bring water shoes or sandals. The beach is about 1.5 hours in a car from Old Town Rhodes. We recommend you pair this one with the Monolithos Castle and do a hike. On the 5-mile hike you get unbelievable views of the untouched coastline. We also saw tons of goats migrating up the mountain. This is an awesome thing to do to get away from the tourist crowds of Old Town Rhodes.

5 – Agathi Beach – The “Golden Sand” Beach

Agathi is 35 minutes South of Faliraki and 20 minutes North of Lindos. This is a beautiful, spacious beach with plenty of room to relax. The beach is total sand – no rocks at all! The road is a bit “rocky” at the end, but we didn’t see any cars having problems. Agathi is a great beautiful and secluded beach – plus its not too crowded.

6 – Faliraki Beach

Faliraki is a HUGE long and sandy beach. If I were traveling with kids, I would stay near Faliraki and spend most of my time at this spacious beach just because it’s so easy. There’s tons of space to chill on the beautiful sand of Faliraki. Plus, there are tons of great restaurants and hotels nearby.

7 – Prasonisi Beach

Located all the way at the bottom of Rhodes, you can sit on sand that lies between the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean. In the summer when the water level is low, Prasonisi becomes a peninsula and you can lay on the sand that connects Prasonisi to the rest of Rhodes. In the winter when the water level comes up, Prasonisi becomes an island.

Prasonisi is one of the best places in the world for windsurfing and kiteboarding.

If you’re into trash, a lot of plastic waste that is dumped into the Mediterranean washes up on here on the beach. When you arrive you’ll be greeted by loads of plastic wrappers and bottles.

8 – Kolymbia Beach and Tsambika Beach

I’m putting these two together because they’re so close to each other, and quite similar. About 20 minutes South of Faliraki you’ll find these beaches. You can see both of these beaches from the Tsambika Monastery if you hike up to the top!

9 – Kallithea

** 4 Euro Entrance Fee **

You have to go through Kallithea Springs to get into the beach here. Beautiful little cove with tons of snorkeling opportunities. However, there are plenty of other free beaches on Rhodes to visit – that’s why I put this beach last. If you don’t mind paying an entrance fee, this beach is definitely worth visiting.
